Today we were up about 6:30 a.m. and down to breakfast by 7:30 a.m. There we chatted with Mike G. and Emily to decide what our activities for the day might be. After much talking we decided to take the KEO brewery tour and to take a taxi to the brewery instead of taking the bus. We arrived at the brewery only to find out that they were no longer offering tours because the new marina is being built right behind the brewery buildings.
Well what should we do now? We decided to just have the taxi driver take us to Old Town near the Castle. Once there we walked to the Old Market to buy some cherries and then decided we should have something to drink. So we walked to Diogene’s Lantern Taverna and had a glass of fresh squeezed juice while we sat under the umbrellas and relaxed. How lovely it was!
As we were there, we decided to have an early lunch even though it was only 11:30 a.m. Mike G. and Emily decided to share a mini-meze—as it was meat we didn’t do that. Mike had the chicken kabob and I had grilled red mullet which both came with a small salad and chips. Of course it was WAY too much food so the begging cats were thrilled. After we had finished lunch we wandered back to the main street and caught the bus back to the hotel.
Once back at the hotel Mike G. and I walked over to the classroom building to prepare for class. While we taught our classes, Mike and Emily put together a supper in our room. We returned to the room about 9 p.m. once class was finished. We had our bottle of wine (the one we bought in Omodos), smoked salmon, meat left over from lunch, olives, potato chips, cheese pie, and sliced cheese and then fresh cherries and figs for dessert. What a lovely meal it was! After cleaning up, they left and we went to bed as tomorrow was going to be an early day.
