As we have travelled the WA highways over the last two days there has certainly been an awareness that we now need to make time to explore our own State through the tourist's eyes. The wildflowers on Brand Highway have been beautiful. If we had been anywhere else I would have been trying to capture them. So I set the camera on TV and wound the window down and clicked. Pretty pleased with the result. Peter and I had also had many a discussion about the 'Highways' and the 'Signs' when we were over east. Especially about the 'A1' that goes all around Australia. I said to Peter "We don't have 'A1' signs in WA"! One can imagine his response! I thought to myself "When I get back to that 'Brand Highway', I will be taking more notice"! And so I have....and another snap was taken to prove that there are probably many people who travel Brand Highway and don't necessarily take any notice of the number '1' at the top of the highway sign! I took particular notice over east of the 'A1'!We arrived at Andrew and Tammy's 'Wildwood' farm at Eneabba just after noon.
As it was still too cool to harvest, the whole family was there to greet us and Nathaniel had picked some lovely wildflowers from the farm. Nathaniel had also made a gorgeous 'Welcome Home' banner for us. Bless him! I'm sure it was with his Mum's help, so 'Bless Tammy too"! Issy wasn't too keen about coming to either of us, but by the time we had finished lunch she was fine. Tammy had made pasties, so they really hit the spot! After lunch and plenty of catching up, Sando went to give the harvesting a go. Pete couldn't get into his work clothes quick enough to go and check out the header he had helped Sando purchase in November last year. Nathaniel was quick to get his boots and hat on, to go with Pop.So us 'gals' have had a nice afternoon together and we have had a walk down to check out the new transportable that will be 'Home' next year. Tammy cut out 'Scary Faces' on the two little pumpkins she had purchased for Halloween and Nathaniel made them even more scary with the black texta, when he returned. We had a lovely meal together with our 'scary tee light holders', which included some of Tammy's home made ice-cream. We finished off with some healthy chocolate I had made way back wherever! Not forgetting the glass of red, while sitting around the fire bucket.
Next stop.....'Champion Bay Rise'. 14 photos
