Mallorca and the non-existent beach...

Can Picafort, Illes Balears, Spain and Canary Islands
Woke up far too early at 4:30am and couldn’t get back to sleep so started packing. We ditched the hotel breakfast today and had savory crepes at a nearby cafe instead. Then one more walk around the old town to shake that down and then back for final teef brush and packing.
After our taxi debacle the other day we decided to leave for the airport with plenty of time. No angry taxi driver this time and everything ran smoothly from hotel to airline checkin.  Too easy!
Killed some time at the airport trying on ridiculously large sunnies then kicked back in an airport lounge until it was time to board our flight to Mallorca.  Michelle was very happy about being able to go into a lounge courtesy of my Priority Pass.
Flight to Mallorca was uneventful though Michelle molested the guy next to her when we landed as she woke with a start and grabbed his arm.
Picked up our bags - my poor suitcase is looking more and more battered - then headed over to the car rental area to collect our car. OMG what a zoo!  One line to get to speak to a staff member who’s only job is to provide you with a ticket so you know what counter to go to when your ticket number flashes up on the screen. Took a good hour all up before we were driving out of the airport.
They drive on the right here so Michelle is the designated driver however this is her first time driving a manual in over 14 years!  She did a good job though and we finally arrived at our hotel in Can Picafort to be faced with an absolute debacle about our rooms (see next day for full saga..).
While waiting to have this sorted out we were offered a welcome drink of water, juice or cava.   We chose water only to be told by the very Manuel like bartender that the water is “fishy, no good”.
Hmm how about bottled water?  Nope, all is fishy apparently.
Michelle and I said, yeah the water is not the only thing fishy about this hotel!
We had a complimentary dinner at the hotel as compensation for stuff up which was ok.  After this we went for a big walk along the shore. Where is the nice beach from the photos?? The beach here is rocks covered in seaweed and it was blowing a gale too.
We walked back along the main strip and saw lots of kak shops selling lots of kak like unicorn lilos and blingy swimtops. Also saw lots of English and German tourists ... everywhere.
Can’t decide what this places reminds us of.... Mandurah, Rockingham, or some part of Malaysia?
Came back and passed out.
