Time to move

Hoi An, Quảng Nam, Vietnam
Decided to move to a cheaper place so My Le suggested we go on the motor scooters to look at a few hotels. Johnnie drove a Suzuki Sirius and I rode pillion behind My Le. The first one had no rooms so we headed out on the Cua Dai road towrds the beach and went to one where here daughter is working the Cui Dai Hotel. This turned out to be a quite palatial establishment with a beautiful pool for $30 a night so we booked in there. Nearly forgot to mention when we arrived Johnnie was behind us and he sailed past and My Le took up pursuit. He almost made it to the beach before he was caught and returned to the right path.
A laclustre day today, not being settled in the right place does that to you
I walked down Phan Boi Chau to my sister and brother in laws favourite spot at Memories cafe where the family had watched the Collingwood Hawthorn semi final in 2011. The room we were in then has been transformed and is now part of the kitchen. Also saw that Phan Boi Chau is being lengthened and the little lane we walked down to get into the back alleys has been bulldozed. Things have changed so much in 3 years, the road from Danang is almost unrecognisable with huge resorts lining both sides.
Met an Aussie guy whose son and Vietnamese daughter in law run a cafe. He teaches surfing and lives in a fully equipped house on the river for $290 a month, I'm tempted.
Went out for dinner to Y Tuan on the waterfront in the Old Town. Fried squid in chili sauce and vegetables, I'm in a nice rut. Dalat wine was good, I'm surprised. Gave a friend, Michael's regards to Plum and her brother and Michael, Phu still works there.
Walked back throug town and bought the hugest donut but didn't get to eat it. I passed My Le's shop and called in to say hello. She said "Is that for me?" I didn't have the heart to say no.
Moving tomorrow and will have lots of pool pics to make you envious.
