Sunday in Hanoi. A lot quieter and not much happening here. Another overcast humid day. Decided to go to Hue by train and booked tickets.
Met some guys from Finland, first I have met from that country . A trio of English women staying here, the youngest is named Elsie. Lovely old fashioned name.
Went and had a foot massage, another hour of bliss. When it was finished the woman made some reference to not being paid enough downstairs, a thinly veiled request for a tip. I had no small change in Dong so I gave her an Aussie $5 note. She was very happy.
Because there was less people around the street vendors seemed more predatory. After last night buying a T shirt that didn't fit I vowed, once again, not to buy anything. This lasted about 10 minutes and I was sucked into buying a trinket.
Later it was down to the market which is about half a K long, the biggest street market in the world. Got hot dogs of all things and bought a back pack to fit extra stuff in.
Finally found the last presents I will but.
Still very tired after yesterdays walk so early night. We get the train at 7pm and get into Hue about 7am. Booked into a soft sleeper which is a cabin with 4 bunks.
