A PICTORIAL

Our Bali trip was a birthday celebration, especially for Evi's sister, Barbara, for her 50th (sorry Barbara) . Coming from Austria is Barbara, son Christoph and partner Marie, from Oz, Roscoe, Evi and Tom who we have not seen for 6 months. Late September and through October we all had birthdays except Evi, so it was to be a merry time! In passing Roscoe mentioned this trip to his mate Magic from Canberra, who, like Roscoe has an Austrian partner, brothers they are! So recently Magic informs us that he and Anita will be joining us for 2 weeks......

We arrive in Bali 5 days prior to the Austrians and Tom so we can catch up with the Magics and have booked into the Mercure at Sanur with them. Once we have checked in and unpack we go in search of our friends and finally catch up with Anita, now the fun part.....

Magic has arrived at Denpasar International Airport and they go through Immigration, or at least Anita does. Magic has no clear pages left in his passport and so Immigration will not process him, he must return to Australia on the next available flight. The good part is that Magic had been warned that he has no full clear pages left, but his "she'll be right" approach won through and he didn't worry about it. He had been to Bali many times and knew that Immigration was a mere formality.....not!

Placed in a room by himself with the Air Conditioner on freezing, a single lounge and a TV with some local show on it, he waited for 9 hours, though he did have the opportunity to point out to several officials that they were now losing a very important tourist, that went down wel!
