Vouni, Limassol, Cyprus
My original plan was to wake up early for some photos but the sun is out from 6:00 a.m. This is how the situation is with the sun coming out so early the summer months in Cyprus. The idea of having pictures with shadows again makes me return to bed. To be honest I did not have a good night's sleep the whole evening so I don’t mind this at all.

I spare 15 minutes before meeting my friends for breakfast and in a fast pace I come to the spots I walked yesterday for better pictures . (The sun is still all over but I have no other choice).

Fedra and Yianni at the beautiful Greek restaurant of "Orea Hellas" are waiting for me to join them for breakfast this morning. The restaurant has the Greek colours –blue and white as Yianni comes from Greece and their beautiful little garden looks like paradise. All flowers are in blossom and the cool fresh mountain air mingled with the scent of flowers makes this beautiful day seem promising. Wow! I am having breakfast with a couple whom I just met for half an hour yesterday and it seems that I am with old friends. We chat about many things over our morning cup of coffee. Our breakfast includes honey, home-made bread, halloumi, boiled eggs and jam. I take a few pictures before I leave. I thank them and promise to be back. We hug and kiss each other and leave them to return to their kitchen. They also expect several people who have already booked their weekend lunch and dinner.

My suitcase is already packed…actually it had not been unpacked but I put back the few things I needed, and I have it ready for the next destination . Taki is to drive me there but he has left for the Fruit and Meat Market very early at dawn to purchase fresh vegetables, fruit and meat for the weekend. The couple expects many people during the weekend who have already made their bookings.

When Taki is back he unloads the jeep and after a cup of coffee that we share together he drives me to Platres. Antroulla with the girl who is helping them in the restaurant are busy in the kitchen as they are waiting other guests tonight. I was earlier in the kitchen and asked a few recipes so that I will prepare when I get back home. I loved vegetable balls (keftedes) and blossoms of courgette.

Of course I cannot find words to thank Taki for this kind gesture of driving me to Platres even though he is already so tired from his morning drive to the market. When I tell him that I am not in a hurry and he can sit and relax and take me later he answers that if he does not drive me now he never will. He explains that he has much work but if he sits then he can easily fall asleep. So, I greet everyone goodbye and here we are in the car heading for Platres.

The stay at the lodge was just as I had expected it, warm and friendly. I enjoyed my stroll and the chat I had with these authentic nice people and I long to return soon.
