The Kazimierz in Krakow

Krakow, Lesser Poland Voivodeship, Poland

The Kazimierz is the district I chose to spend 2 nights on this second visit, -a former cultural, spiritual and physical home of the city's Jews . Known as the city’s Jewish Quarter –some 64.000 before the Second World War.

Captivating Melacholy

These days the area is full of moody cafes and bearded Bohemians, nice restaurants, historic synagogues.

It is an enchanting place but also a place to reflect on what has gone before us.

Although the area has been developed the district’s melancholy soul is as captivating as ever…

My last year’s visit was so quick.

I remember telling my friend I would never return but yet the more I thought about those words, the more I wanted to come back, and of course with no hurry this time. After all, a visit here makes you realize how precious life is!

Krakow looks lovely. It seems much nicer than Warsaw.
