A Great Choice for Family holidays the Year-round!
I spent the last 4 nights of my stay in Zakopane at the Rezydenja Nosalowy Dwor a property that happens to be at the other end of the city, compared to the first hotel I stayed, as I wanted to check this side of the city as well . The stay was memorable and I feel the need to mention this from the first lines.
As a family-friendly hotel guests should expect it to be a bit noisy as they will come across kids of different ages.
In the case of a more relaxed and romantic stay I would recommend the sister Hotel Nosalowy Dwór or the Art Hotel & Spa which is central.
LOCATION: Conveniently located in a quiet and interesting part of Zakopane, very close to the Nosal Ski Center, 3 km from the train station, and 1.8 km to Wielka Krokiew Ski Jumping hill. The town promenade (Krupowki Street) is aprox. 2.4km.
CHECK-IN: Smooth, swift and efficient!
STAFF / SERVICE: The reception staff were always discreet and polite and ready to help. It is a huge business and it did not take me long to observe that both the staff and management do their best to meet the needs of their guests . I still remember the bag with goodies we had the day of our departure having to catch an early corresponding bus from Krakow to Warsaw, or the umbrella I was lent from the reception of the Hotel Grand next door. The staff I came across throughout my stay on the whole, were extremely friendly, helpful, with a few cases of not speaking much English. In such case I appreciated the help I had from my guide who was local and was with me almost throughout my trip.
ATMOSPHERE: My first impression upon entering was mixed and expected the reception area to be more welcoming and stylish. Of course works outside are still in progress since it is a huge complex and there is much to be done in the coming months, perhaps not only at this hotel but the three neighbouring. In the capacity of a hotel advisor I had the time to give my piece of advice which I believe was appreciated. The ambience of the sitting lounge and the bar was warm and cozy with comfortable seating . I noticed that guests enjoy spending time out here as I would see it almost full at times.
ROOM: #1417, approx. 30 sq. meters. A bright room, contemporary clean-line, stylish and trendy with mountain theme interior. Impeccably clean and functional with double glazed wall-window and a mountain view.
We had two singles, a bit narrow for my own standards but this is how singles are in Poland anyway! Cool crisp bright sheets, assured relaxing sleep.
I found the side corner of the room trendy and for the four nights I was here it had become my favourite spot, not to mention that the writing desk with the three big drawers was handy as well. Nothing was missing, with plenty of storage, minibar, coffee/tea facilities, safe, hairdryer, slippers and robes, -the room had everything.
BATHROOM: Spacious, well-lit with fresh white towels, with shower and hand soap wall-dispensers and toiletries .
RESTAURANT: We enjoyed the buffet of the Rezydencja the very first evening. I found it interesting with ample of choice. Variety of salads, Polish and Mediterranean dishes, desserts and seasonal fruit. I still remember how exceptional I found the oven cooked beef meat that evening. It exceeded in taste and I remember how I liked it –me who is not after meat at all.
BREAKFAST: American buffet with much variety enough to fill you up till late. There are times, especially during weekends or high season that you have to wait for a while until tables are ready since the hotel is huge. Nevertheless, you won't be disappointed if you are patient a bit, as food is plentiful and tasty. The open kitchen offers omelets and pancakes. I loved my own omelets all four mornings I was here.
Service in the restaurant is efficient and the staff do their best to get you a seat and take your dishes away when you leave them on the side . On the whole, the quality is good, food is tasty and varied.
AIR BRIDGE: A glass passage connects this hotel with the Grand hotel on the 3rd floor. This joining walkway could be a bit complicated at first, however after you use it once then access seems much easier. Guests use it to get to the swimming pool, the SPA La Perla centre, the Mare Monti Restaurant, the café of the other hotel, the Children's playroom or the conference centre.
POOLS: Guests of both hotels (perhaps this is a drawback) have unlimited access to the pools, so expect it to be crowded over here. The 20m swimming pool seems to be extremely popular. Two saunas, one Finnish and a Mediterranean are also to be found close by the pools, with a steam bath, a Jacuzzi and deck chairs for further relaxation.
SPA: La Perla Spa Clinic is a chain of prestigious beauty clinics offering services and treatments of the highest quality . I was pleasantly surprised to see what it offers while watching the video of the SPA at the waiting lounge.
There is a doctor of Aesthetic Medicine (upon request) along with professional therapists who offer Hi-Tech Cosmetology treatments. I urge you to drop by and book the treatment or therapy that suites you best. The feeling after one such visit will keep you happy for days.
In a relaxing atmosphere I opted for the outstanding facial treatment Perla Mlodosci which I highly recommend. Maria Stasinska my therapist explained step by step the procedure, the result of which was instant. This therapy regenerates and moisturizes the face, wrinkles are smoothed, but the density, firmness and vitality of the cells are improved as well. The result is great as the skin pigmentation brightens and lightens and remains like that for several days.
LIVE MUSIC: The very last evening I had the pleasure of meeting in person Luis Nubiola, a Cuban-born Jazz Saxophonist, composer and teacher who happened to be performing live for two nights (Friday and Saturday) in the VIP Business Lounge "Giewont" .
Jazz sounds or melodies are hard to describe in words. Luis travelled me virtually with his music to dots and spot in Cuba and the Caribbean.
IN ALL: The hotel is well appointed with genuine and personalized service for guests. I felt spoilt with all the care and attention thanks to the professional team. I came here as a guest but leaving behind friends! In general the Complex (Nosalowy Dwór Resort and Spa) are for all budgets, year round holidays, romantic getaway, short or long stays. In every occasion it depends on the individual to make the right pick, choosing the suitable hotel to meet their needs.
