Dinning at the OLIVE Rrestaurant

Fine Dining, Eclectic Menu, Unparalleled Service!

Back to the Sheraton Grand Krakow's 'Olive' Restaurant for a Tasting experience once again .

NEW EXECUTIVE CHEF: I knew Jacek Filipczyk the executive Sous Chef from my previous visit, but this time I had to congratulate him personally for his Starwood Award.

He is by now the Executive Chef of the Sheraton Grand hotel, recognized for his great culinary passion, his delicious meals and exceptional work through the years.

Jacek has not appeared out of the blue, but he was part of Hotel’s Opening Team, so he knows the Hotel inside out!

Besides being talented and a food enthusiast, as a person I find him to be a true gentleman, humble and friendly.

STAFF & SERVICE: The feeling of being spoiled by the young and friendly staff gave a sense of service perfection . So nice to see Mariusz again!

THE MENU: 4 course.

APPETIZER: We had a Stem Baltic Salmon paired with a selection of vegetables, Mango mousse and black Caviar. An appetizing yummy choice!

SOUP: The Lobster and fresh Tomato soup was truly a delight, with grilled prawns, parsley and wild rise.

Extremely tasty with a garlicky flow, but missing any trace of lobster!

MAIN COURSE: The Grilled Polish Beef Tenderloin was a delightful perfection!

Besides the eye-catching presentation the beef was tenderly juicy, succulent and extremely flavoursome

The combination of king oyster mushrooms with mini green asparagus, sugar snap peas and young fontant potatoes –all favourite of mine, paired well with the shallot wine cream sauce.

Crunchy veggies cooked to perfection - Big thumbs up!

DESSERT: We had the Lemon and Basil Tart garnished with bitter Cherry and Raspberry sauce.

I can’t say it was my piece of cake, -the creamy texture a bit more sour than I expected made it taste slightly bitter! My friend on the other hand was happy with it and claimed it was yummy!

There are times when lemons towards the end of the season are more sour than normal, so I am sure this was the case . Otherwise the presentation and combination of fruit and chocolate was unbeatable.

BEVERAGE:

We had an Aperol Spritz Cocktail with Prosecco for a start.

Italian Martini Rose sparkling wine –Delicate and appetizing!

De Casta Rosado 2014 (Miquel Torres) –fruity aromas, our dessert choice wine.

On the whole, if somebody told you that this is an amazing restaurant with food that gets your mouth watering, he is absolutely right. The overall experience was great. The new Chef is doing excellent work, the staff are friendly, discreet and professional. Be sure to drop by and try the new culinary courses and delights which are divine. Highly recommended!
