"Great Service, Exquisite Tastes!"

Located on level 1, of the Grand Nosalowy Dwor hotel, the Mare Monti restaurant has a modern touch, spacious and is nicely decorated, although it lacks character

Regarding the atmosphere it was not that cozy as I expected it to be. Pleasant in a way, but it still needs some elements to become more inviting.

I had the pleasure of meeting the Executive Chef of the restaurant and had a short chat with him. Slawomir Sagula was very friendly, talented and passionate with his work. I loved his creative ideas.

In the capacity of a Food critic, I comment below on the choices from his à la carte menu.

STARTERS: After the Chef's amuse-bouche which was creative and super tasty I opted for the Beef Dove which besides being nicely presented it tasted yummy! Served with chips from oscypek cheece, the grilled mushroom sauce added a hint of extra flavour.

My friend’s choice the Veal Sweetbreads served with celery puree, pickled apple, red onion braised in balsamic vinegar was just as good, appetizing and mouthwatering .

SOUPS: I loved the Polish soups I had on this last trip to Poland. The ones I had here were not an exception of course.

My choice was the Crayfish with noodles and celery –rich in texture, super yummy and flavoursome.

I did try the choice of my friend of course and found it just as tasty. She had the Consomme on smoked duck with carrot and barley.

MAIN COURSE: My choice this time was the Grilled Gilthead fish (catch of the day) which was exquisite. Served with mashed peas, carrots, and pickled onions, it was a delight. The smell of freshness was obvious and the taste was divine.

On a separate tiny bowl, the mixture of olive oil with fresh lemon juice and fresh parsley added the Mediterranean touch of flavour. Big thumbs up!

The Meatloaf with Deer, “lazy” dumplings with kale, beet, and cheese sauce was my friend’s choice. I found the meat tenderly juicy and interesting.

DESSERT: The Rubarb fried in butter, honey accompanied by nut ice cream was not my piece of cake. I had mixed feelings for this dessert .

The second choice was much better. The Chocolate Dumplings with Strawberry rhubarb mousse currant. I am sure locals would have loved this dessert. Again I had mixed feelings but I know I am weird with desserts anyway! My friend who was local enjoyed every bite.

Her own choice was the Baked Apples Mouse, pound cake on the side, served with Apple fried mannitol.

BEVERAGE: I had white wine to accompany our meal recommended by the Chef.

IN ALL: Family oriented hotel in great location with professional staff. Interesting cuisine with fresh and tasty food and a popular SPA offering treatments of high quality. Highly recommended for year-round holidays!
