Before coming to Scotland, I never heard anyone say a bad thing about the city of Edinburgh. Now I can see why. I love just walking around and seeing what there is to see.
I am staying with James and Marie, a couple I met while traveling in Brazil and then again several months later in Bolivia to go on the tour of the Uyuni Salt Desert .   They just moved into a new house and were kind enough to let me have the spare room for a week. Edinburgh is relatively small and packed with many old buildings and pubs in the city center, the highlight being the Edinburgh Castle which was a fantastic tour. James and Marie are busy with their pub during the day, and especially right now since their accident prone chef  nearly sliced his finger off and then accidentally splashed hot grease on his neck leaving a nasty burn. So he's out of commission for a few days. Anyway, that left me free to explore around the city and take photos.
The United Kingdom is great but I'm thinking I may need to mix it up a little and make it even more interesting by going somewhere they don't speak my language....we'll see.
