Ainderby Steeple, England, United Kingdom
7*. Even though we were in the car, it still didn’t feel as cold as that.
We could believe how quiet the roads were compared to yesterday (Sunday).
The Poppy village of Scurton or Scorton. Someone puts out a really good newsletter,  http://scorton.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/SDIssue37June.18.pdf  This little village was so eyecatchingly pretty, red splashes of knitted and crocheted poppies adorning fences and gates wherever you looked. It was a delightful sight.
Did the usual and picked our way up thru lanes and byways to arrive around 1.45 at Wark. It was a relaxing drive as I wasn’t trying to find accommodation (learn from it!)
The black bull Hotel https://www.undiscoveredscotland.co.uk/bellingham/wark/index.html  Another fabulous Hotel, huge bedroom and bathroom very modern, clean and extremely comfortable.
Has got a gorgeous sunny conservatory which we made use of while we waited for our room, Kevin had a beer and read his book, I had a coffee, blogged, and tidied up emails. Relaxing, we're holidaying now.
3.30 we went for walk around the village, delightful place. Reminded me of Opunake (absolutely atmosphere only!) everyone seem to know everyone and very chatty.
We're here for 2 nights.
