A Hike to Gorman Falls

Bend, Texas, United States
This morning, Dennis, Kathy, and we drove to Colorado Bend State Park near Bend, Texas for a hike to Gorman Falls.  Dennis had read about it in a magazine so we decided to check it out.  Once we got to the park, we missed the turn off for the trailhead, but finally found it and hiked to the falls.  The walk was an easy one until the last few feet before we got to the falls.  Fortunately, they had put cables along the trail as it was steep and the rocks were smooth and slick for all the folks who had been there before.  Once we got to the base of the falls, it was well worth the effort.  It was amazing to see the water cascading down the sides of the canyon in front of us.  The water drenched ferns and moss gave the appearance of green formations like the ones in caverns. After a short rest, we climbed back up the canyon wall and walked back to the car.
The magazine article mentioned Bad Bob's Bend Store in "downtown" Bend as a suggested place to eat.  We decided to check it out and found that they weren't cooking burgers, so we just checked the store out, got back in the car, and drove to Brew D House Restaurant and Pub in San Saba for lunch.  It was also an interesting place that was a series of room additions that morphed into the current building.  Shirley ordered their chili cheese burger and the rest of us got their green chili cheese burger.  They were very large, loaded with good stuff, and delicious - could our walk that morning have influenced our appetite?
We then drove back to Brownwood and chilled out at the rig.
