A massive typhoon was due to hit korea on tuesday. They are saying this is the worst typhoon in ten years. The last big one killed about 300 people so they were bracing for the worst.

In areas expected to be in the direct path schools and government offices were closed. Daegu however was not in the direct path.

The school board announced that students could come to school at 10.30am but that staff were to come normal time. That seemed a bit strange that students should come when the storm is expected to hit.

Not much happened on tuesday. There were some strong winds and regular rain. Nothing too extreme that we hadnt experienced before. For a couple of thirty minute periods it did get quite severe. But nothing unlike any other rainy day in Daegu.

Later we heard a building had collapsed in the city but that was about the extent of the damage. So somewhat of an overhype. We actually had heavier rain on thursday which was a regular tropical storm passing thru Daegu
