Epidavros, Greece
The main afternoon highlight of our tour was to the site of Epidoura. This is famous for its theatre and acoustics, though the site was actually a medical and healing centre and the theatre was designed to keep the many visitors entertained.
There is also a small museum but with large tour groups you have to wait your turn and it was quite humid inside.
The site is spread out with more ruins but the amphitheatre is the main highlight. It is still used for performances. In Greek times performers used face masks for tragedy or comedy.
These tours move in slow motion compared to if I was travelling solo. I wanted to get back to Athens for my final nite before nightfall.
