Paphos Archaeological Park

Paphos, Paphos, Cyprus
Paphos is the site to a large archaeological park at its coastal tip. I wanted to go later in the day when the heat goes down but today was a holiday and it would be closing by 5. I also needed to visit the Tomb of the Kings outside the centre before that too closed at 5pm.
I left my hotel at 2pm and walked over the short distance in the heat. Entrance was 4.50 Eu ($6.75).
Its a large outdoor site so no shade. There are two houses in the southern portion. The house of Aion had interesting and detailed mosaic murals spanning the area of the house. There was a viewing platform to observe from.
There were other outdoor house ruins with viewing platforms and various styles of mosaics.
Towards the northern portion was a lighthouse and the remains of a theatre. I didnt want to walk in the heat.
There was another larger building and an opportunity to get out of the heat. This was the most interesting building.
This was a gallery of mosaics. There were walkways throughout the complex to admire the mosaics. They had peoples faces, floor patterns, animals, portraits, and all manner of art.
These are the most impressive murals I have ever seen.
