Sept Iles, Canada
Our ship again has travelled all night while we enjoyed the excellent food and entertainment aboard ship. We have arrived at Sept Isles and must wait for our turn to go ashore on the 2 tenders that have been dispatched to carry the many passenger planning on touring the city. This is a small place but the local people are eager to greet the visitors and make sure their visit is pleasant. We hike into the business district, stop at a Tim Horton's for coffee, Canadian Tire for some AAA cells then on to the Museum. They have much to show and much to tell about the history of Sept Iles. There is a section dedicated to the aviation history of this place. A young fellow gives us a personal tour and it is soon evident he really knows this topic well. We return to the tent full of local handicrafts and a young gal singing a Celine Dion song. She has an excellent voice and it is likely only a matter of time before she is discovered. We learn that ours is only the 3rd ship to visit this place and that is why the locals are all excited.
