Broken Hill, New South Wales, Australia
G,day All,

Well the alarm went off at 5am as we were having a early snack on the train, before detraining at Broken Hill . What a drizzly day a cold and misty rain met us as we went on the town tour and up to the top of the look out to see the town, the town was the first town to have air conditioned trains and the first town to be fully sewed in Australia.

The tour was only a pit stop to change drivers and refuel before heading into Adelaide, we all boarded the train again and the first sitting went down to breakfast as we watched the country side change again, the diversity of this country is amazing from thick bush around the coastal plains to open pastures then to the mulga sparse wooded areas.

We were called for breakfast so went down and had a scrummy breakfast of juice and bacon and eggs and coffee, then after breakfast went and listened to the bush Poet John Major, he was awesome, He and his wife were getting off at Adelaide to do the Ghan train trip up to Darwin then fly to Perth and do the return trip back to Sydney on the Indian Pacific.

Lunch was called for but it was a late one as we had a late breakfast and we were coming into Adelaide about 3pm so needed to leave room for snacks in Adelaide .

Hoo roo all have fun

Hello All,

Tis I the Broken Hill fixer upperer Cedric, I was rudely awoken at a sparrows fart well before they even had time to think of that it was black out side, I glared at the idiot and hoped he would fall out of the bunk but sadly he scrambled down like an old woman shaking and quivering ha ha what a sight to see. After showers i was ready to head out when I snuck a peek out the window man was it cold so i pretended to have a chill and said i would stay here thanks, so sadly i did not get out and fix the Hill but from what i heard it was not broken just a tad wet as they too have had the wettest year on records OK people time i was back on my book looking out the window and trying to spot the elusive kangaroo
