We woke up to an empty town (and it was not early). We had been warned that nothing works the day after Tet but it is something to see the streets that empty. We rented a motorbike to wander around. The plan was to go to Phat Diem to see a famous church and then to the beach. Well, it didn't happened like that. We passed through Phat Diem without really realising and when we did we were in the middle of the countryside. We decided to stop for lunch and randomly found ourselves in a small temple. The man offered us tea and then happy water (wine rice). After we had lunch on top of a hill overlooking a great landscape. On the way back we found the famous church. It was white and golden and looked like it was build here just to shoot some movie scenes.

We were so glad to have our newly acquired face mask today . We completely blend in (maybe…) and didn’t breeze in too much dust. On the way I played with my camera, trying to get shots of people on their scooters.

On s'est réveillée pour découvrir une ville déserte (et ce n'était pas tôt le matin). On nous avait prévenu que tout serait fermé après le Tet mais c'est quelque chose de voir les rues vides! On a loué une moto pour aller se balader. Le plan était d'aller à Phat Diem car l'église y est connue et ensuite d'aller faire un tour à la plage. Bon évidemment, la journée ne s'est pas déroulée comme cela. On a traversé Phat Diem sans s'en rendre compte et on s'est retrouvé au milieu de nulle part. On s'est arrêté au hasard pour manger et on s'est retrouvé dans un tout petit temple. Le gars qui était là nous a offert le thé et ensuite de l'alcool de riz. Après cela on a grimpé la colline la plus proche et on s'est trouvé un coin à l'ombre avec une vue imprenable. Sur le chemin du retour on a trouvé la fameuse église mais elle n'a vraiment rien de sensationnel. Elle ressemble à un décor de cinéma. 

Vous remarquerez sûrement notre super photo avec nos masques et bien sûr les routes poussiéreuses, on était trop contente de les avoir et puis avec ça on se fond à la faune locale. J'ai profité du chemin du retour pour prendre des photos de la route depuis le scoot.
