Santa Clara, Villa Clara, Cuba
At times it was slow going having to wait for an opportunity before passing the bicycles, motorcyclists, bullocks and horses along this single lane road.

Passed through Florida, not the American one at 3 pm (15:00).

Then a 10 minute break at 4.50 pm (16:50). Back onto the road before the 2 hour leg or 120 km through to Camaguey.

Onto the 4 lane motorway with just 89 km to go. Then the inevitable at 5.30 pm (17:30) happened ... A breakdown just as sunset came round. Took an hour to fix but with my i phone torch providing the light source, Leo and another Transtur bus crew who had stopped was able to replace one of the broken belts. One thing that I've noticed, no street lights or should I say they are rare here in Cuba. Got to our overnight Santa Clara stop at Los Caneyes at 7.30 pm (19:30).

Los Caneyes has a resort feel with its 95 thatched bohios or bungalows spread out amongst the gardens in a mock indigenous village atmosphere. So far it has the best buffet selection in the trip with plenty to select from: CUC$12 plus a Cristal beer for CUC$3 totalled CUC$15 / US$15 / NZ$23.10. Made up for our fruit lunch stop today.

A fashion parade around the pool was in progress as we left dinner.
