Christmas dinner under a full moon

Camagüey, Camagüey, Cuba
From Sancti Spiritus another 4 hours to our overnight stay at Camaguey.

First a welcome 1/2 hour ice cream and coke break CUC$2.50 / US$2.50 / NZ$3.80 at 3.30 pm (15:30) at one of the many road side refreshment stores we encountered. By now the freely availability of the generally "Old Havana" branded rum was just part of the display behind the counter. Same price no matter where one goes.

Now well and truly dark when we arrived at our overnight Hotel Isla de Cuba. It is getting darker earlier the further east we travel.

Leaving at 8 pm (20:00) to walk to Restaurante 1800 located in the Plaza San Juan de Dios. While it had an extensive and some would say lavish buffet, it was the setting with the outdoor tables laid out in the Plaza with a near full moon above the church itself that I will remember for this Christmas dinner. Dinner was CUC$12 / US$12 / NZ$18.60 plus Cristal beer and pineapple juice for an extra CUC$3 / US$3 / NZ$4.60. The photos show a near depleted platters and dishes of their food!
