At Sea, Ash Sharqiyah, Oman
Our first sea day after Dubai and the first full sea day for our new passengers. Almost a month in, we are all getting into our own routines (and for some of us, have picked out our favourite seat/area of each venue) there is a little bit of underlying tension that someone (most likely a new person) may want to sit in 'our spot'.

As someone who can’t help but people watch, I think people’s interactions today will be interesting.

After two days of 45 degree heat, we began our transit through the Gulf of Oman in a much more acceptable temperature of 31 degrees.

At his noon update, the Captain gave us a heads up about Tropical Cyclone Nanook that is currently doing its thing in the Arabian Sea. While we don’t actually go near the area, we will be impacted in terms of some rough seas. In the early evening the ship started rocking and by bedtime we were well and truly in middle of the heavy seas.

In exciting (and yet disturbing news) today was a very good day at trivia. Due to the randomness of some the questions, we ended up getting a very respectable 18/20. Getting such a good score meant that we were in the tie breaker round with two other teams.

The tie breaker question was about when a particular train robber in Canada first used the phrase ‘Hold em up’. We guessed 1825, the answer was 1904. As the winning team only had two people and the prize was six pens, they donated the remaining four to us and the other team in the tie breaker.

I also decided to take part in the speed scavenger hunt and managed to win myself a drink bottle, a magnetic clip and a metal carabineer.

Fun fact:
In 1984, Def Leppard drummer Rick Allen lost an arm in a car accident. He went on to continue drumming for the band.
