Our dinner outing the second night was not so nice because in the end we did not meet our friends due to influenza and we thought to postpone it. Besides, it is the easiest thing to do anytime when our friend recovers.

So with this and that I had to go out and find a nice cozy place to have our dinner and since it was the last night in Chalkida I wanted it to be special .



The restaurant we went to is very popular and is located on the same promenade road where the hotel we are staying is. It offers an open area on the pavement and a covered roof to protect from wind or rain but the main building is an old stone-structure nicely designed inside.

We entered from the side entrance because there was a plastic wall prottecting the seats that are out on the pavement from the cold and wind on the three sides.



We found a nice seat and thought that we shall have a wonderful time since everything looked cozy and beautiful. People kept coming in and very soon there was not a single table without people smoking.

I had a look around and noticed that the people sitting were enjoying their chat and smoking at the same time than what they were eating .

There was not a good ventilation so we thought to change our seats.

This new seat though was not comfortable at all as we picked to sit by the entrance and cold kept coming in. It was not comfortable at all but at least we could breath.

For this reason we thought to have something quickly and return to the hotel. We ordered just a pizza.



The waiter later explained that they allow smoking in the building because now with the economic crisis the few people who decide to go out demand that they smoke. If the owners of restaurants prohibit this, they will leave and go somewhere else so they will lose customers and soon close. Of course I can understand this and this was the reason we did not leave.



I have a look on the menu which seems interesting and at first I considered ordering the grilled veggies and have the smoked salmon for 6 .90 euro, and my husband wanted to have some grilled tenderloin and some salad.

There was a huge variety of salads with the Carribean the most expensive (7.90 euro) and the cheapest the seasonal at 3.90 euro.



Pizzas were in great variety and we ordered the IL Posto.

Of course there were a variety of pasta, tortellini, and different other dishes of chicken, pork, and even Greek cuisine to choose from.

We ordered a beer, but I felt cold by that corner we picked to sit near the entrance so we asked to pay after we had our pizza and leave.

Before leaving I asked to have a catalogue with me in case I want to return here again.



To my surprise I discovered that the pricelist has other amounts different from what we were charged and I only noticed the difference today from the receipt. I can say I am disappointed, and I would not really mind the room not properly ventilated, but I cannot stand pay more that what I have to.
