Morning in Toulouse, France

Toulouse, Occitanie, France
Morning walk - On this morning I woke early for a morning strolling visit to the city of Toulouse. There is a river that runs through Toulouse so this is the direction I wander towards. I find big open squares with huge, beautiful buildings. I also wander down small winding lanes which are likely of medieval origin. Even though there are people out doing morning things like making deliveries, riding bikes and taking a jog about town, the city is very quiet. Once at the river, I take in the pretty view and head back into the city streets to locate some much needed caffeine in the form of cafe au lait. Fortified, I head back to the hotel. Along the way I find a secret little passageway that leads into a church in the middle of the buildings in the whole block. The inside is very pretty with old wood, some painted pretty greens and blues. There is a main church, a small chapel and little places tucked all around. The passageway leads out to the other side of the block on another street which happens to be where we walked to dinner last night. We even took pictures and commented on the church as we passed by. Right around the corner is our hotel where I’m back in after a small hour walk.
Breakfast - back with my darling friends, we pack up & ready ourselves for departure after breakfast. We enjoy a lovely breakfast in this hotel. The breakfast room is cute. There are many items to choose from including the magic orange juice machine! The homemade yougurt is delicious. It’s all very good and satisfying.
Taxi to train station - after our tummies are happy and we have our fill of coffee, we head to the train station by taxi. It’s a short ride but our driver has to work around a mess of construction in front of the station.
Car pick up - The Europcar rental office is easily located next to the main hall in the station. There is not really a line and we are in & out with little delay. We head up to our car to drop our bags in the trunk. We have one more thing to see nearby in Toulouse....
Walk to Violette Boat - Across the street, over the river and down a little bit we find the Violette Boat! It’s a little boat that is purple and down inside is filled with all the wonderful violet goodies. We sample some yummy violet things, do some shopping and then get some delicious violet ice cream drizzled with violet syrup. We eat on the top deck of the boat. So divine!
