Now this is Ireland........

Adare, County Limerick, Ireland
As as you can see I have written a lot more about Adare and the Cliffs of Moher than I did about Dublin. When you read on, you will know why......

Dave and I picked up our rental car this morning, he got in the right front seat and we left Dublin on the left hand side of the road . In other words...the steering wheel is on the right side of car and we have to drive on the left hand side of road. He got the hang of it right away.

We headed towards the Village of Adare. And since we were driving ourselves, we decided to take a side trip and headed to The Cliffs of Moher at the Atlantic Ocean. It not only was a beautiful drive through the countryside of Ireland, but when we reach The Cliffs we were in awe. The sun was out, the temperatures warm and the view went for miles out into the Atlantic. It couldn't have been a more perfect day.

Beautiful, amazing, majestic...... I can come up with 100 other adjectives to describe this awesome Irish coast meeting up with the wild Atlantic Ocean. Walking atop these cliffs gave us numerous different views. The best way for me to convey this is to just ask you to look at the photos....they say it all. Sadly, there was a plaque honoring the memory of those that fell to their deaths . Even with the warnings to stay back due to unstable cliffs, Dave and I saw numerous people taking selfies right on the edge.

After catching our breath from the views we just saw, we headed to the Village of Adare to spend the night at a B&B. I took over the driving and after less than a minute, it was very comfortable driving. In fact, I really like the way they drive over here.

Ok, I have to say that Dublin is not what I consider true Ireland. It is the countryside, cliffs and villages like Adare. What a quaint little town with hay roofs on some of the buildings, cute little shops and the B&B we stayed in. A friendly Irish woman named Maureen, her husband and son run this B&B. When we arrived, her teenage son, James greeted us, showed us our quaint room, gave us so much info about the village (restaurants, pubs, shops, etc). Maureen asked us what time we would like breakfast...WOW...we actually could decide when we want to eat . Told her 9:00 and she told us that if we can't sleep to come downstairs and hang out in the kitchen with her. Ok...I love this woman!!!

Dave and I headed to town for dinner and found Pat Collins Bar which had the BEST Irish Beef Stew ever...did you hear me say ever.....complete with Guinness for Dave and Bailey Irish Coffee for me.

Headed back to our B&B at 9:10 pm...it was still light out. I am sitting on one of the most comfortable beds ever in such a quaint Irish bedroom writing this blog and I keep telling myself....I JUST LOVE THIS VILLAGE. This is IRELAND.

Reluctantly we are only spending one night and heading to Portmagee in Kerry County tomorrow. I will miss this town and the people we have met and I have already planned to come back here someday for more than one night.

Good night Adare......
