Having completed my morning biking I had arranged with my friend to meet her at Aldgate Station at noon. The station was closed due to flooding so I had to find a wifi connection to message her. We met at Aldgate East Station a short walk beside.
I remember Sunday markets growing up but I think they have all been cleaned up now. In those days anyone could bring anything second hand and just sell it on the street or the back of their car. Now I think it was all been licenced so only official traders are allowed. It has become a lot more touristy.
Petticoat Lane was just bargain clothes and were low quality. Spitafields market was nothing impressive either. We went across to the Brick Lane market.
This was not the Brick Lane from my childhood which was the Bengali district and very ethnic. Now it was very touristy. There was a long street market heading north.
There was not anything from my childhood that I remembered so we ended up taking the bus back instead of the tube. I wanted to sleep.
After 5 I met another two friends for a light dinner on Green Street after spending time with their family.
