Natchez Steamboat

New Orleans, Louisiana, United States
We disembark our cruise ship in New Orleans then trek with the girls and to the Natchez Paddle-wheel Steamboat. The hike along the Riverwalk is much longer than what the guides told us. The Riverwalk complex is a long and well developed shopping and dining area along the Mississippi. The Natchez, a reproduction 1800's steamboat took us up the Mississippi River where we were treated to a lunch of southern food, piano jazz music and a guided tour. The area is quite industrial but full of history. We saw where the Battle of New Orleans was fought in 1815 plus old plantation houses, huge ships and massive refineries. After the Natchez, we had a quick taxi ride through the French Quarter and we are back at Louis Armstrong International Airport. We found our flight from Houston to Calgary was late but Air Canada upgraded all of us to Business Class. We arrived into Calgary after 11:00 PM and it is -5C. The truck is frozen and we were too as we got a bitter taste of Feb winter winds.
We all look forward to the next journey!
