The last few mornings it has been a warmer 8 degrees, but we are back to a frosty 2 for tomorrow where we have stopped for the night between Roma and Injune.
After leaving Warroo Bridge at 9am, an early start for us! we drove to Surat, and spent some time at the beautiful Cobb and Co Museum, where we witnessed the feeding of their Murray Cod and his mates with live yabbies and shrimp in their big fish tank. Lucky we saw them here because our fishing record is a big zero, so we would never have known what they looked like otherwise.
Down the road we visited the tiny butcher shop, then walked across to photograph the lovely Shire Hall. We met the bloke who was fixing the clock which controls the three clocks on the clock tower. Across the road from here we met Tinker (Facebook name MasterTinker in case you're interested) who had just bought in Surat and will be making his man cave furnishings here. He is a trade mechanic and we were very impressed with some of his ideas.
Finally we moved on to Roma to top up just about everything including ourselves, before we head into Carnarvon Gorge and other National Parks in the area. While filling up with water behind the Roma Information Centre, we must have looked rather down and out, as a caterer from a tour company plied us with the leftovers from their tour lunch - potato salad, bread rolls, salad and a chopped up roast chicken! That's tea tonight! I'm becoming lazier by the kilometre.
As the wind was pushing us around a bit and it was getting late, we chose a road side spot for the night. Tomorrow we'll drive into Injune and decide which National Park to visit first.
