Lazy days at Cobar.

Cobar, New South Wales, Australia
Tuesday 4, Wednesday 5, Thursday 6 July
With the days being gloriously sunny, even though chilly, we have stayed on at the old reservoir, enjoying the peace and tranquility AND very late sleep ins. We occasionally have a visit to the area by a local or two exercising their dogs. By that I mean letting the dogs off the ute and continuing to drive so the dogs get a great run. They certainly seem to enjoy it. Rick often has a chat with them, country bloke to country bloke.

We forced ourselves to drive into Cobar today, to have a little tourist look and do the washing at their  fancy laundromat. These mine workers get all their washing done for them, by the looks of the huge amount of bags lining the walls here. Ours cost $11 for us to wash and dry which I thought was fair value.
We also had lunch at the Great Western Hotel, which IMO, is ripe for renovation, if it doesn't burn down first. Hamburgers with chips and salad filled us up before we drove up to the mine Lookout. The mines here mine zinc, lead, silver, copper and gold.
The camp oven came out of it's box for the second time this trip for a camp oven stew for tea. We huddled close to the fire as we ate "Merril's Magnificent Stew" and decided we needed to move on to somewhere a little warmer tomorrow.

Wow, I'm a bit slow. Just saw this. Beautiful day here too. On our way from Bourke to Brewarrina, home of 40,000 year old fish traps, or so they say. Passing hundreds of emus, sheep and goats, and the usual roadkill
