Camping Zeepark - on the beach, absolutely awful.Now that we set off from Scunthorpe to go to the tunnel it makes our outbound day quite a long one. We were up at 6.30am, Tescos for 7am, McDs breakfast at 7.30am, at the storage site for 8am as it opened and fully loaded and off by 8.45am. Even though we’d booked the tunnel for 3.20pm giving ourselves extra time, we still only made it with 30 mins to spare. No problems at the tunnel this time so we were on schedule in France for the next phase of our busy day. Our fist stop was Cite Europe for fuel (we were quite low!!!), Carrefour for wine (we didn’t bring any this time) and then to Adinkerke in Belgium for tobacco supplies. The final stop of the day was De Panne and Camping Zeepark, the one right on the beach. We’ve tried to camp there before but it’s always been full, well we certainly won’t be trying again. The campsite was foul in every way but particularly the facilities. At 10pm we got some kind of musical fanfare for 10 mins and then at 11pm a huge firework display that lasted at least half an hour and then for hours and hours people coming back rather merry. The weather didn’t help as it threw it down overnight and we were parked on sand!!! The only saving grace was the nice walk along the promenade and a visit to our favourite Frituur for Frikendel (plain for Mark and full of crap for Penny) and chips eating them sat on a wall in the square watching the fountain.
