There was machinery clanking all night on the fruit farm, but it was peaceful once you got used to that. The shop was brilliant but we just didn’t need anything so couldn’t partake without feeling greedy!!
Our first stop for the day was at the Oosterbeek museum to relive Operation Market Garden (Sep 1944). It was a very busy museum and quite well done. They were preparing for the weekend as early September each year is when there is a big parade to remember the fallen.
After a quick lunch in the car park, Deventer was our next stop to have a look round. The architecture has changed a little as we’ve moved north, although this town was quite a mixture of styles. We are back in the Hanseatic territory, so this is a common style in the towns. Yet again there was a big festival going on, this one seemed to be for students and they were competing in all sorts of games in the town square, the theme was lots of blow up arenas/assault courses.
Although we only spent a couple of hours wandering around town, it was definitely worth the quick visit.
Our final stop of the day was Zwolle but we were pooped so that will be our start tomorrow, for now we’ll take advantage of the sun and nice scenic pitch.
