Aire at Maastricht Marina N50.823977, E5.699564
After a terrible nights sleep (no sleep due to drunken
iditos) we were quite late up and nearly all campers had departed the bog! It
was a little tricky but we did make it off site without the tractor, so no
embarrassment for Mark there and as we did we finally spotted our sister (ie
another British RollerTeam our model) which we’ve only been looking for on our
travels for the last two years!!
As we’d refused to eat the overpriced and not so great
looking food at the grand prix we were definitely in need of a supermarket so
we managed to hit Aldi just a few miles from our next camp.
The marina, our chosen stop to do the washing and freshen
up, is really nice. The views are great, the facilities modern and clean and
they provide a water taxi to the centre of town.
Given it was so hot today, early 30s, we decided to stay out
of the afternoon sun sand head into Maastricht late afternoon, then dine in
town. We can’t believe what a beautiful town it is and it was absolutely
buzzing even on a Monday when most tourist things are shut.
We had a couple of white beers (Penny’s new favourite) and
then went on to an all you can eat and drink buffet restaurant, ‘Les Grands
Buffet’ in the main square and surprisingly for one of those things it was
really nice (Mark chose it because it was in a beautiful old building).
By the time we walked back to camp it was quite dark, this
isn’t normal for us!!
