Kinderdijk and ferry home

Rotterdam, South Holland, Netherlands
Thank goodness the wind dropped overnight, we really thought we were going to have to abandon the ferry and drive to the Channel Tunnel.
As we had the morning free we got on the bus to Kinderdijk to investigate more windmills, this time historic ones left for us to look how they were lived in. Actually there are 12 windmills and 10 of them are rented out and lived in. After seeing the insides of the other 2 we won’t be putting our names down to live in  one, they’re very small and look very hard work.
For lunch we had a very interesting time at the local Chinese restaurant, neither service nor food were up to much but we made our own fun!!
We set off to the ferry quite early as the weather was still rather wet and blustery. Check in was all very easy and we were on the ship hours earlier than we thought meaning we could settle in and have a drink in comfort. Everything about the crossing Rotterdam to Hull with P&O was brilliant. Early check in meant less stress for boarding, there were staff everywhere to help us to our cabins and on to the bars, cabins were basic but clean, the crossing was nice and smooth and disembarkation very efficient.
Mark and I enjoyed the arrival in Hull looking at the town from the river Humber quite a different perspective.
We dropped the Motorhome off in storage in Scunthorpe, picked the car up and was home in Coventry for lunch with Roger and Ruth our Swiss friends ready to carry on sightseeing on local turf.
