All aboard the Shatabdi Express

Agra Station
After a short drive - just under 15 minutes - our minibus drops us off in the car park at Agra train station. Before we can get our bags from the back of the minibus they are being hoisted onto the head of a porter. He carries two on his head with one slung over each shoulder. I'm half expecting his small and wiry frame to collapse under the weight of the four large holdalls but he marches on in front of us.

The platform is crowded as we wait for the Shatabdi Express service which will take us to Jhansi.

On board the train is comfortable but uneventful. I was expecting more drama and more colour but what we got was bland air-conditioned comfort.

From Jhansi we are met by another guide and minibus and we are soon on the road to Khajuraho
