Topes de Collantes, Sancti Spíritus, Cuba
Lunch (vegetable soup) before a 1.2 km circular walk along the Sendero de Alfombra Magica through orchid and bamboo gardens with a 50 metre long Cueva del Altar / cave (in one end and out another) which in parts it was a bend down for us taller persons.

Up to the mirador for views looking down to Trinidad and the Playa Ancon peninsular in the far distant.

A previous owner was a botanist and had planted different trees.

The overhanging rock provided shelter for the fire pit where pigs are gently turned and roasted for 4 hours.

A yoga and meditation hut plus a lovers' shelter completed the short yet interesting walk. By now I was tightening up in my muscles with the up and down and wish that there was a hot pool or spa nearby for a soak or even a massage ... alas not so.

Being Christmas Eve and while having a roast pork meal is Cuban tradition, we were treated to a turkey dinner.

Two mattresses in a tent enabled a good night sleep. Others slept under the hacienda's veranda.
