I discovered the village of Ilia last year accidentally on our way back home from Edipsos.
The beauty of the coast from the main road was such that we could not resist making a stop for pictures . From then on I knew that I had to include this little village on my next coming trip to the area.
I loved the serenity of the place and the colour of the sea, so here I am today showing you around through my photos.
Ilia got its name from the Monastery of Ilion which is built on the mountainside.
A few years back Ilia was hardly known but lately it has become quite popular. The Ilia Mare Hotel we are staying is simply wonderful, but of course there are studios and rooms for rent throughout the village.
