Larnaca, Larnaka, CyprusLarnaca has for years been the leading city that holds the largest and most important folklore festival in Cyprus .
The so called "Kataklysmos Fair" (Flood Festival) is between 29th and 3rd of June
I was there a week before the above date and there was much going on too. Kiosks set up in line with vendors selling local delicacies and all kinds of touristy products, but there are also competitions taking place, sailing races, local exhibitions of pottery, fireworks and much more.
Personally noise and crowded areas is not my piece of cake, but at least before flying back home I dropped by for a while just to get the feeling of it.

I arranged meeting a friend of mine whom I met through the forums of VirtualTourist. She happens to be from Larnaca but has been raised and lives in London.
I had a business meeting to attend that afternoon and when that was over I joined Angela for a glass of beer.
