Warsaw, Central Poland, Poland

The Best of Authentic Lebanese Cuisine!

Being a Food critic myself I am very picky and I knew from reviews that I had read that it won't disappoint me . My instinct proved right once again. The cuisine travelled me ….see in what way!

Lebanese cuisine is indeed a symbol of its people's hospitality where nothing strengthen the human bond more than eating together.

TWO RESTAURANTS:
Through the 20 years the Le Cedre 61 restaurant has been the flagship and a benchmark in Lebanese food in Warsaw.

Not long ago though, fans of Lebanese cuisine can enjoy a newer branch, -the Le Cedre 84. My review is based on a Tasting experience I had at the latter where I dropped by unexpectedly for lunch one day while in Warsaw.

LOCATION: Not very far from the city centre, this newer branch is at Aleja Solidarnosci 84. I used the tram from the Old city to get here but on the way back I went on foot since I was staying at the H15 Boutique hotel and it was actually a short pleasant walk . Taxis in Poland are not that expensive either.

ATMOSPHERE: Oriental interior, -a subtle style of Phoenician decoration where dishes are served in a traditional setting that completes this Lebanese experience.

Excellent vibe, and relaxed atmosphere. The Le Cedre 61 on the other hand has an Arabian interior design, so it is actually a matter of choice and taste!

SERVICE: I particularly liked Le Cedre 84 not just for its incredible food but also for its impeccable service and more importantly the feelings you get to attach with it.

CUISINE: Lebanese, Mediterranean, Vegetarian, Middle Eastern, Halal, Grill .

Superb, tempting and mouthwatering choice of traditional flavours where portions are huge and prices are reasonable.

The menu replete with Lebanese classics with an array of cold and warm mezze, followed by a grilled meat assortment, each with its own discreet taste and flavor.

The warmth and its Mediterranean identity which is hidden as a surprise in every bite of each dish was tempting to the eye but above all –the palate.

SURPRISE: The bread (Lebanese pita) served was just as superb as the dishes, not to mention the Grilled Halloumi Cheese that excited me as a Cypriot myself. I could never imagine having it hundreds of miles away from my country, in Poland.

NAMES, FLAVOURS, COLOURS: Particularly for this restaurant with the so many names written on the menu-list, the many flavours and colours I will do an exception . A picture is worth a thousand words, so I leave the photos show how incredible everything is.

BEVERAGE: I did not have wine myself this time, but requested a refreshment instead. For those interested though, among the restaurant’s wines are Lebanese ones too.

DESSERT: Well this was exceptional and it stood out by far compared to the rest of desserts I had in Poland. See the photo and ask for it….So yummy!

The overall experience was great. I highly recommend both restaurants to anyone who loves spices and oriental food. Don’t check the menu that much. Leave the people behind the business guide you according to your likes. You won’t be disappointed!
