. Brilliant. Sublime. Perfect. What more is there to say?
The first restaurant in Poland specializing in ceviche!
A couple of days before coming here I was dining with a friend at Salto, the first restaurant of Martin Gimenez Castro. At a point seeing the dainty bite-sized morsels coming in with each presentation more surreal than the previous I requested to see him. He was at the Ceviche that evening so we arranged to meet the next day.
The name of the restaurant intrigued me only because this is exactly the kind of food I love, "ceviche".
I never get to a restaurant or anywhere else without reading reviews first, so I did have a look out of curiosity when I returned to the hotel to get a picture of what to expect. I noticed mixed feelings in general but I understood that the ones with not that flattering comments seem not to be acquainted with this kind of food
. It is natural, that if not prepared for such cuisine there is possibility of negative comments. The ones who like it though, will keep coming back this is certain.
Anyway, "Ceviche" stands for exceptional quality of what it prides of: Raw super-fresh fish marinated in lime/lemon juice with olive oil and spices, served as an appetizer. Martin is well aware that in a good ceviche the fish has to be the star and have the first role….I expected that I will like the dishes, but the tastes exceeded by far my expectations. Fish quality is world class!
I was here with a friend for a quick lunch the next day but in a hurry to catch a flight so I did not have the time to sit back and enjoy every bite as I would have loved to have had. I bet this restaurant will be the first to come to anyway when I am back next year.
LOCATION: Central
ATMOSPHERE: I loved the vibe of this restaurant
. Fancy and charming but casual and cozy at the same time. Very different from Salto that I dined the previous night. It is amazing how the talented Chef displays his ability to juggle two brilliant spots of divergent personality. I assume the 'Ceviche' is designed to give vent to Martin’s South American culinary emotions.
SERVICE: First class service. The staff speaks English and is very helpful.
CUISINE: Peruvian, Seafood, South American.
PERUVIAN CUISINE: Just for the record for my readers, this type of cuisine is a combination of Pre-Inca and Inca staples, and food with the Spanish, Basque, African, Asian and French, Italian and British cuisine that immigrants brought with them. In other words a unique fusion of the culture, traditions and flavors of four continents in which all parts coexist or melt in harmony and even enrich another.
CEVICHE: We had three out of seven choices and honestly I cannot tell which was better than the other simply because every bite was a Wow!
Doritos on the table of course to accompany our choices and instead of wine I have a Lemonade this time

Besugo (Sea bass). Delicious, second to none!
Langostinos (Prawns). Exotic super fine taste!
Atun (Tuna/ chilli/ roasted coriander/ avocado). Spicy and yummy!
With every bite we could not help making sounds of satisfaction…wow! Omg! mmm!
The fourth choice the Pulpo Con Quinoa was the last surprise. The Octopus was so live, so fresh and juicy so yummy! A delight to the eyes first and then the palate.
There are times when I get lost in taking pictures of the food and for this specific one I wanted the best. Big thumbs up!
DESSERT: There was no way to skip dessert out here. I was sure that it would be something exceptional and I was right
. We accompanied our coffee with the most exquisite Cheese Cake ever. Presented in a bowl and flavored with passion fruit. Words cannot do it justice. Just see the photo!
BEVERAGE: The bar has a sizable offer of alcoholic cocktails, wines and drinks.
IN ALL: Peru is a melting pot and no better place to taste similar flavours in Poland than here. Everything good said about this restaurant is true. Ceviche is a place to hang out in good company and willing to get into the world of flavors. Presentation, flavors and ambiance all combined to make our short lunch memorable. Based on my experience and as a Food Critic myself, I can't imagine someone who loves this kind of cuisine, not to love this place!

Excellent entry, especially for me with my Peruvian roots. I'm glad Peruvian cuisine is finally making its mark in Europe. It is one of the world's great culinary secrets.
