Now this is more like it....a town with some action! But ouch! You pay for it. Punta del Este is a famous beach resort town that South Americans flock to by the thousands during their summer vacation... which starts in like two weeks. The beach here is nice and the place has a cool vibe. I'd like to be here for the high season to see what it's like but prices for everything will skyrocket. But it was cool to get some nice beach weather and some time relaxing in the sun... especially after all that accumulated stress from "working" in Montevideo. I met a bunch of cool people here and my three day visit I had planned turned into five days. Surprisingly, I found no tribute to any dead guys on horses in the form of a statue or anything else.   Oh well. Next stop... another beach famous for it's more tranquil and natural setting.
