Well, Argentina just keeps getting a little better. Although the town of Bariloche is nothing special to look at, the surroundings are what make this place Argentina's 2nd most popular destination. There's great skiing in the winter and every other outdoor pursuit in the summer. And we've discovered another gem in the Argentinian diet... Patagonian Lamb! I also tried the local venison and smoked wild boar. As I move south, I will be trading cow country for sheep country and lamb will take over where steak leaves off.   The red wine continues to be fantastic and with the help of my friend Yngve's knowledge of this topic, we always pick a winner.  


The best thing to do in Bariloche, believe it or not, is leave . Several miles out of town are the best beaches where you can swim in an icy lake and experience "shrinkage" like no where else, look at a hotel you can't afford to stay at (The Llao Llao at $1,700 p/night), and climb mountains... or take the chair lift like us... it's Yngve's fault, he wanted to do it. At least that's how I remember it.  And finally, it's time to say goodbye to Yngve, my travel partner the last two and half weeks.   He's heading over to Chile and I'm going south to Ushuaia.
