After 3 towns of rather boring, fairly modern architecture, I reach another historical gem: Queluz. Here you find the Queluz Palace, an 18th century gem and one of the last great Rococo palaces.

Yeah, I had to look that up... Rococo, is a late Baroque style, with light colors and playful asymmetrical designs--sort of like a "fun" baroque.

I don't have time to explore it properly--but it is still a welcome break on my tour...
