BanPo Neolithic Village and Terracotta Warriors

Xi'an, Shaanxi, China
We got up at 7am and wandered to the street to find some great street food for breakfast. Found some yummy buns, crepes and pumpkin soup to sustain us.
Then met Mary our driver and guide (found via TripAdvisor 1000 CYN for her service for the day) at Starbucks downstairs from there we drove out to BanPo Neolithic Village. It is a 6,000 year old matriarchal civilization discovered in the Xi'an area and considered one of the oldest archeological finds in China.
We then proceeded to a terracotta replica making centre where we learnt how the original figures were made.  Next was The Terracotta Army and Horse Museum which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We checked out the 3 pits available to the public.  They were actually quite interesting.
Next was lunch at a delicious restaurant. We had steamed and fried chicken, egg plant, noodles, dumplings and cooked lettuce. All so good!
It was then a long drive home (we all fell asleep) and Mary drove us to the Lama Buddhist Temple which we saw from the City Wall yesterday. It is apparently the largest Buddhist Temple in western China.
Mary dropped us home where we had some down time.
Later Dad and the kids set off again for the Muslim Quarter for some dinner, whilst Mum had awesome noodles and did the laundry back home.
