Owen and Mum finally finished up at Harcourt and we were finally in pack down mode for our Asia Wanderlust Adventure. On the morning of Friday 21st December, 2018 – Rhys, Anai, Owen and Mum caught an early train to Burwood, then the 420 to the airport (an hour trip all up). After checking in, we had Maccas for breakfast then boarded flight QF129 destined for Shanghai at 11am.

10 hours and several movies later we landed into Shanghai at 6.30pm.

We had a tight connecting flight to check in to at 9pm. It was tricky as one piece of luggage took a long time to come through then we had to navigate China Immigration (finger prints) and customs before checking-in with China Eastern which was 3 floors above. We made it to the boarding gate with 15 minutes to spare before boarding MU522 for Xian where we were to rendezvous with Dad and Shae.

Dad spotted us at the luggage carousel and ROAMAS were finally together again (much to mum’s relief). Our driver awaited us and we drove approx 45mins to our Booking.com accommodation @ Zhongmao Plaza near the city centre. After checking in with the owner, we all flaked out and fell asleep.
