Grunskies Red Emporer in Newspaper

More road works didn't deter us from heading down to 1770 for a look, it's 3 years since we were there and we could see a difference, in the residential developments.

This is a very beautiful spot, school holidays made it quite busy but we managed to have a very nice cafe lunch at the Marina Cafe, before exploring Agnes Waters, and heading to Bunderberg .

The Information centre pointed us in the direction of the local fish market, Grunskies, where we picked up a whole Red Emperor for supper. A visit to The Coopery - where they make the barrels for Bunderberg Rum and souvenirs was followed by a stop at the ginger beer factory, for supplies.

Bagara was next and time was marching on so we opted to stay the night at the Absolute Oceanfront Caravan Park. This is a small park, right on the water, excellent views of the mainly rocky seashore. Given it was school holidays and we only booked late in the day, we were glad to get 2 spots together, for $32 a night each.

Our fish was expertly cooked by Tony, using the newspaper method accompanied by great chips in the electric frying pan by Marg - against a background of the moon shining on the ocean through the caravans and cabins & a vino or 2.
