Bowens history in Murals and Flagstaff lookout

Cannonvale, Queensland, Australia
21/9/13 Home Hill to Airlie Beach via Bowen, a lovely town with a fair number of murals depicting the towns history, scattered around town.
After walking round most of them we headed off to explore the bays and lookouts . Bowen has amazingly beautiful beaches and bays, Horseshoe bay is magnificent, and apparently has good snorkeling, we enjoyed a picnic lunch on its shores. Flagstaff lookout has 360 degree views of the bays, town and islands - well worth the short drive from town.

At Airlie beach we explored Shute Harbour road, and chose the Sea Breeze Caravan Park. Robyn checked us in, and made us feel very welcome, we shared a powered site slab, right alongside the brand new amenities, en-suite style - this is a great park, and we loved our time here, we booked our tours through the park & got a discount off the site fees.
We realized that this was a perfect park for a happy hour.
