Magnetic Island This is a really easy and cheap island day out.
The ferry takes around 45 mins and is met by the local Magnetic Island bus
. We decided to go all the way to Horseshoe bay, as we alighted from the bus there was an Italian ice cream shop- exactly what you need when on an island holiday - so we succumbed.
The beach is glorious, the bay calm and the water inviting, so a swim and a sun bake was the order of the day, for Tony & Sue - Marg & Tony forgot their bathers and were content to sunbake a bit more.
What is for lunch? Fish and chips of course - in the paper - on the beach - yummo.
the 1:05 bus took us to the other end of the island to Picnic Bay, a quick look around and it was time for the bus and ferry back to Townsville.
