Innot to Innisfail
After a late checkout around 11am and fond farewells to Barry & Marg - we had a quick look at the nearby wind farm, amazingly quiet for the size and quantity of these giant turbines.

We stopped in Millaa Millaa to marvel at the huge Kauri pine that fell down a few years ago and again at the Millaa Millaa Falls a little out of town, before we arrived at the Mungalli Creek Cheese farm in time for lunch .

We tasted their cheese and yogurts before indulging ourselves with a selection of cheese pies, washed down with berry smoothies and iced coffees!

The countryside around here is lush and green, with plenty of rain forest and rolling hills scattered with cows, and set amongst it is the relatively new DERM operated "Mamu canopy walk".

Cyclone Larry cleared a path in the rainforest, and they have used it to create this marvelous walkway which includes a 40m cantilever walk into the tree tops, with a great view of the river below and hills beyond, this is followed by a canopy walk way, with informative plaques, culminating with a tower, a climb to the top takes you to the very top of the trees for even better views of the surrounding country side. At $16 for seniors this attraction is "not to be missed".

We arrived at the Innisfail free camp, at the 3 ways junction, just in time to secure a spot, next to a picnic table - it wasn't long before any new campers had to park on the road that runs down the side of the camping area - plenty of international and local folk to chat to.
