Starting the adventure

Chichester, England, United Kingdom

Living in the north west of England means we have a whole day’s travel in our fair land before we can even contemplate another country. We had a good run down the M6 for a while, but the usual problems round Birmingham led us to the Toll Road – CC members can pay just for the car (ie. caravans go free) if they show their card at the toll booth, which is what we did.

We had an uneventful run down the A34 to our destination for the night: a CS (Camping & Caravanning Club) called Coombe Leigh near Hambrook, Chichester. Its veryhandy for the Portsmouth ferry, and is a large grassed garden with mature trees, electric hookup, shower & toilet. It was perfect for our needs, and we had a peaceful night’s sleep .
